Best thing I have bought in a while. Water tastes like a mix of distilled and spring water. We have horribly hard water here in the mountains and it cleans it up beautifully. It's now four years after I bought this Water Distiller Countertop White Enamel Glass Collection by MegaHome and left the first review. It's still in use and works great.

 

No problem at all with this Water Distiller. It replaced bottled water with very little cost and the finished water is absolutely pure the ice when frozen is crystal clear. It has turned out to be one of the better purchases I've made. I don't have much to add to the earlier reviews, but it is still problem-free, and useful as ever.

I process, on average, about 2 gallon a day, which is sufficient for drinking, preparing coffee and juices, and cooking. As for cost, I calculated that I'd be able to amortize this purchase, including shipping cost, in about 7 months. After that, a gallon will run me about 33 cents in electricity. Try buying a gallon of distilled water for that price.
 
This is an update and some notes after three years of using this Water Distiller Countertop White Enamel Glass Collection by MegaHome:

1. It works as well as the first time I used it. This is a solid piece of work.
2. The collection bottle is a bit challenging to keep clean because of its shape, and we use a bottle brush to clean it. I can't think of any alternative design that would be easier to clean, so no points off for it. It's still neat to me that it fits perfectly inside the distiller when it's not in use. That kind of attention to detail still pleases me.
3. Coffee made with distilled water is more delicious and consistent.
4. It is compatable with other water containers, glass or other wise. I wondered about this before buying this distiller and I can say that yes any container you have will work to capture the distilled water dripping out of the distiller. DO NOT be jipped into spending 50 dollars on an official glass water jug. 
5. For cleaning: white vinegar works better faster and with less harm to skin than the citric acid anhydrous sold for the same purpose.
6. It appears to me that clean water has been partly responsible for the slow but sure improvement in my health over the past 3 years, including 30# weight loss.
